Well..if they tried to do that ..something else could happen..that would be the final threat right? So then..even if they tried..that is when gold could skyrocket shortterm..some other hedge funds could come in and buy up the gold and squeeze the shorts even more..or Barrick and all the other producers would then start buying up to cover their forward positions.. just thoughts..maybe improbable..
