Essentials have to be bought in a deflation (a real one - not a hypothetical one) but larger ticket items are a different matter and consumers will wait in anticipation of even lower prices causing a depression - at least this is the danger - and we haven't seen this since the 30s - at least I can't remember anything like it.There is generally a vested interest in inflation - of the mild sort. d
