That chart of MU vs. AMAT is a real eye-opener, and seems to show that MU is not a leading indicator for AMAT, but actually moves in step with it. This would seem to give even more concern to the recent reports of DRAM flooding the market and DRAM prices falling. Of course, it's anybody's guess whether supply or demand will win the race, but one impression I have gotten in the past is that the PC sector leads the equipment sector by about six months. It seems logical, but I have not been able to find a good comparison graph to prove the point.

One thing I have noticed, while looking through a Micro Center flyer that came in the mail recently, is that the sub-$1000 PC's all have at least 32 MB of RAM, and about half of them had 64 MB. So I am hoping that the increase in volume that goes along with cheap PCs will be enough to soak up all that extra DRAM.

***OT*** By the way, have you ever tried Micro Center?
