Re: Volatility

Steve, Herman, All

It has been stated that a stock should have "high" volitility to be a good candidate for doing covered calls. Define volatility. To the best of my understanding, volatility is a measure of how much a stock moves during a period of time.

How is it calculated?
What are its units ($ per day, % per day, ...)?
What values are we looking for?

Thanks,
Blaine
