Larry,

I don't recall claiming Lee's innocence, only that he should not be proclaimed guilty until the facts are known. IMO evidence obtained now does not justify the earlier accusations of his guilt. It does appear that his actions are suspicious of some serious wrongdoings that could result in a conviction - if they ever get around to charging him with a crime.

You say, "I submit this article underscores how ineffective our methods of controlling vital secret information are."

I agree. Makes me remember an earlier event. In 1967 or '68 I was involved in a Top Secret project involving satellite data transfer of encrypted information. I was told only a few in the Navy knew about the project. All schematics and information were kept in a locked safe (requiring two to open it) in a building in a fenced in compound in the middle of another compound with a Marine guard on duty restricting access. Everything had to be memorized. Imagine my surprise when I read an article about the project in Popular Science, including information that could have compromised everything. Information that Russia would have been seeking, that would have gotten me brig time had I told. It wasn't spies, it was a reporter talking to the Defense Department.

FWIW,
Ron
