I'm not pro-NT, but try recovering your Solaris box on improper shutdown; you'll see how reliable the underlying utilities are (not). Regarding reliability I've never experienced any problems running NT 4.0 Server ? For a workstation or small server environment it's perfect. p.s. At least MSFT has done something with their file system to make it reliable ; rather than Sun's 20 year old UFS.
