Pizza Place...a big hit at International Franchise Expo

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- "We went to the 8th Annual International Franchise Expo in Washington, D.C. and accomplished our mission. Our booth was the star of the show. We made people sit up and take note of the hottest new franchise opportunity in the industry" said Richard Michael, CEO of American Kiosk Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: AKIS) (d.b.a. Pizza Place). Continuing, he said, "During the three day show, our booth was swamped as thousands of people stood in line to sample our 2 1/2 minute brick oven baked pizza. We also identified 140 individuals who are seriously considering the purchase of a Pizza Place franchise. Best of all, we are in final negotiations for new franchises in Florida, Georgia and Oklahoma."
The International Franchise Expo, which is the world's largest franchise event, served as a springboard to launch the introduction of Pizza Place to a broad national and international audience. This effort included the unveiling of an improved new design for the Pizza Place drive-thru building. The new design was prepared by Interplan Practice, an Orlando-based architectural firm specializing in franchise restaurants. Ronald L. McDonald, a member of the company's Board and noted author, was also on hand to answer questions about the Pizza Place system.
As part of its initial marketing effort, American Kiosk signed area representative agreements earlier this year with USA Foods, Inc. in Florida, and DTS Marketing, Inc. in Georgia.
Under the agreement with USA Foods, the first drive-thru store was opened in Orlando in mid-February and is doing well. The experience gained in opening this store was used to improve the design of the building for all future stores. Two of these stores will be in Georgia, with one of them opening within 60 days.
American Kiosk Corporation, headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, does business under the name Pizza Place. The company is engaged in the development and implementation of national brand franchise systems using a stand-alone building with walk-up and drive-thru windows. Its main product is oven baked pizza, which can be delivered in only 2 1/2 minutes, other Italian-style foods and soft drinks.
