Some insider selling may move the stock down over the short term since many traders act on such news. However, it means little over the long term, because the insiders may just be exercising their options as part of their compensation package. There are many reasons to do this. They may want to diversify the portfolio. It may be for tax reasons. Etc...

Example: During the last quarter, there was some heavy insider selling of AAPL from top management. Currently the stock is in recovery mode, up from 32 1/2 to a recent peak at 45 3/4.
