I'm not pro-NT, but try recovering your Solaris box on improper shutdown; I hate to disappoint you, James. But I've never had to recover an fs under Solaris. p.s. At least MSFT has done something with their file system to make it reliable ; rather than Sun's 20 year old UFS. So what's your point??? MSFT is a strong buy & SUNW is a short because at least they have done something to make their fs more reliable??? Opinions are like noses, everyone's got one. So you have opinions about a variety of topics ("Java only goes 8-way" "fsck sucks" "UFS is unreliable" ad nauseum...). So, in your opinion, what does that mean about the company? Sell now?? BTW: If you think the Unix workstation market is dead, why don't you come up with some backup materials to PROVE it. If you can't or don't, why not migrate to a MSFT thread, where ignorance and bravado are the standard modes of communication?? cheers, cherylw
