Would someone mind telling me if they have used or can recommend a stock simulation program?

I don't know of one that gives you direct access to select the execution systems, at least not for free. If you sign on with one of the daytrading houses (Cybertrader, MBTrading, Castle, etc) you might get such a thing, but to do you any good you need to have real time quotes. I used to paper trade (before going live) with All-Tech, but unless you have a local office that will set you up, you are looking at some hefty training fees.

I currently use myTrack mytrack.com and I pay them for r/t quotes. They have a pretty nice interface and you can download the free software from their site. They have a "contest" that simulates non-directed order execution. This is more like using a Datek, E*Trade, etc, but it is far better than doing your own thing with Excel because you depend on them to give you an "execution". Believe me, the real world is far removed from getting orders filled just because you see a quote you like. I'm quite sure you can use the system for free, buy you will only get delayed quotes from them if you do. That's OK if you have r/t from somewhere else.
