I'm afraid that I'm the one who wasn't clear. I understood your meaning. Interest payments do affect cash flow only in the period when they are paid; however they accrue on an on-going basis, and so there is no earnings shock when interest payments are made. At least, this is my understanding, but I'm not an accountant.
