A report on today's deposition of a Netscape official:

Netscape feared that Microsoft would intimidate AOL

Currie acknowledged that Netscape's Raptor team wanted to get AOL's attention but said he had no knowledge of how AOL viewed the product.

Lacovara later told reporters that Raptor had been built with AOL specifically in mind. Netscape engineers were testing Raptor before talks with AOL started.

Microsoft's assertions appear to be aimed at proving its competitors were still alive and kicking
