It's strange to see these sectors awaken again. The oils I can understand because of the OPEC cuts, but the other commodity weighed sectors have me scratching my head. I don't think it's attributed to a possible ground war because there is way too much support against it and the smart money probably knows that.

There's another theory that I have been bouncing around, but it's tough say it's the reason for the rise in the mentioned sectors. I have been following Y2k and I always thought that if there were any disruptions in basic commodity production due to any Y2k failures, combined with all the money pumped in the world markets we could see a very nasty case of inflation. This could be a very valid reason for stronger prices in precious metals and commodity type companies throughout the remainder of the year. BWDIK. I guess time will tell.
