<I think it's unfortunate that you took the comparison chart only out as far as 50 months. If you look out the longer term (100 months:<

Only 50 months???? You make that sound like its not a very long time for a high tech company. 4+ years is a very long time in the software business and more than a fair sample. What has happend the past four years isn't a "bump" in the road. It's been ORCL falling further and further behind in growing its profitability. It also coincides with the period of LE's obsessions about MSFT and his other tangential endeavours.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what your point really is. That Oracle was once a great company? Yup. But, right now its not and that's why the stock is $27! Can it be a great company again? Yes, I think so, but, its time to get down to business and stop some of this other crap.

I look at some of the opportunities that were lost to really build their application business and wonder what ORCL's share price would be today if it hadn't been asleep at the wheel when SAP came along.

I know that there are some people who treat ORCL like its a religion and LE like he's the high priest. I'm not one of them, I'm just looking at the results and saying that they're not up to what they once were and they haven't kept up with the elite of the rest of the tech's.
