All, electronicnews.com This could be interpreted as a plan to spin off Cyrix (yeah, I know - shut up about those IBM 'rumors') and maintain the integrated approach. National is considering integrating the non-PC microprocessors into the parent company, leaving Cyrix to focus exclusively on PCs, according to Steve Tobak, vice president of corporate marketing at National. Here is my $.02 - Sell Cyrix for whatever they can get for em but keep the rights to the cores for the integrated stuff. Use the proceeds (yes, they do have half a billion in the bank already but I'm thinking big)...Use the proceeds to buy software companies to use with the appliances. Corel Corp - $180 Million, currently developing Linux into a user friendly OS for consumers. Product lineup includes complete office suite (WordPerfect) and complete Desktop Publishing tools.
