By the same token, in your dictionary is IBM a software, hardware or services company ? And what is CSCO or Lucent for that matter.
High end server and storage growth which includes both hardware and software is fueling SUN's 20% revenue growth. Plain and simple. I don't think it is a question of blind faith on anyone's part - most SUN longs have held their views since the stock was much lower. You can argue valuations, but your persistent implication that the company is about blow up as it is suddenly overtaken by some trend in computing that makes UNIX , proprietary tech obsolete , borders on the ludicrous. Over time SUN has converted a lot of skeptics on Wall Street aganist all odds.
In my opinion SUN management team deserves some credit for understanding technology trends and staying on top of them. I guess if you are bearish on SUN, you must consider IBM, HWP, CPQ (and all other software companies that provide UNIX software, hardware, services, like ORCL, IFMX) etc basket-cases.
Regards (as always)
