INToo Software Corporation has a much grander name than its reality. A small band of five software developers beaver away in Spartan surroundings on the top floor of a downtown building.
There's no hint of luxury here. No receptionists or flowers. Just the quiet hum of very concentrated work.
INToo speaks volumes about a large slice of the high-tech industry few see.
We all know about the Microsoft of this world, but a major part of the software development industry works in relative obscurity until, hopefully, it is discovered.
INToo is a classic example.
Led by Dr Intesar F.K. Ramley, the small company has already produced some intriguing software that is starling to attract a lot of attention.
Ramley has poured in over $250,000 and produced two models of ARMS99, an automated requirement-management system that, to put it as simply as possible, makes process management a whole lot more efficient.
It is far less sexy than its name implies, but, Ramley says it is a product the nether world of computing wants and hopefully really needs.
“I agree it is a very technical program, but in essence it caries out technical auditing of software process management and monitors and tracks the actual development of a software project”, he says.
“In essence it becomes a nerve centre that delivers to management a complete real time window into the progress of a software process,” he says.
“No other product in the market can do so much to ensure the success of software development,” he adds.
He said the importance of the program is that it could save many a software development program from the garbage heap.
“The bottom line is that many software projects never make it to completion because they either take too long or cost too much. ARMS will guarantee that a project will be successfully completed on time and on budget,” he says.
But now he has gone to market with product, Ramley knows he can no longer afford to be a low-budget operator.
To go on will require additional capital and he plans to take the company public soon” because I have many other projects I want to do”.
The optimistic Rampley points out that Microsoft wasn't always a household name, and in tow years “I want to see INToo accepted as one of the software companies who passed the rest,” he adds.
