Tom, Simplot should hold off on painting the henhouse and consider looking for a better firm to get him out next time.

If the mission was to exit 4 million shares 4-22-99, the execution was successful.

But was it optimal?

Here's a 5-day intraday chart:

bigcharts.com

If the highest bid they hit was 39 and the lowest was 37 you can attempt piece together the story looking at that chart.

Eyeballing that chart, figure the selling had to have commenced sometime prior to say 12-12:10 - since they were able to get 39.

But then, all the 38's could not have come after 1 p.m. and the only time they could have gotten 38-38 1/2 looks to be in that 12-1 p.m. window.

The 37 had to have occurred after 1 p.m.

Cutting to the chase...

...do my eyes deceive me or did the nitwit assigned to get him out just start banging the bid right about noon and then freak?

70% of the 4 million at the lowest price of the lot - not good.

Simplot should consider the advisors to his upper management team.

Upper 60's looks a little better than upper 30's <g>

Good trading,

Tom
