Short positions are reported to the exchange by member firms once per month. the cut off is around the 14th of the month. At that time, the Exchange totals them and usually publishes around the 15th or 16th of each month.

For informational purposes only and not pertinent to the Q is the fact that Market Makers in BB stocks do not have to report short positions to any regulatory body. They, therefore, are free to short an infinite number of shares with no accountability. It's just another area along with the rebates on order flow that makes me question why we have an SEC at all??????????
