When a system never crashes, why should I worry about how long does a crash recovery fsck runs? My Solaris box has been up for more than 6 months now, and the last time I took it down was because of a hard drive upgrade. My window 98 machine probably crashed once a week. I guess because of the frequency of the crash, MSFT had to design a robust NTFS to do file crash recovery.
