I think the answer regarding porosity at least in the Bellingham basin will turn out to be excellent. My impression is that we will know shortly as they are dewatering an old oil well first before putting down any gas wells. I ,however, am not in the industry as you have been. You could call these guys at 800 6618510 and ask them the right questions. If you do , let me know what you think. My enthusiasm for this speculation comes from a lunch I had with a geologist who was an expert on coal bed methane and was optimistic. This was over a year ago but I suspect these fields have been around for millions of years and are quite patient until they are tested. (You are right about the tax incentives helping but the folks at epic and safari tell me that the economics still work even without them.)
