The reason Metz wears the same suit, is because he's really dead (killed when the vacuum between his ears caused his head to implode, luckily off camera....), and the "person" you see on TV is in truth an audio-animatronic robot (like the ones at DisneyWorld) that CNN bought to replace him.

Unfortunately the programmers cut a few corners here and there when they installed the robot's non-volatile memory, and the handbook that came with him is written in Japanese, so the CNN guys can't figure out how to get him to say anything but "the market is going down", and/or "buy gold." Since they payed so much money for the robot in the first place, the big brass at CNN want to see it used every so often, so that they feel they're getting their money's worth. So the CNN business desk gets a call, they fire up the Briggs & Stratton engine that powers the sucker, and wheel the contraption in front of a camera whenever the market burps....
