Most of the people on this thread seem to have a strong tech background while mine is more business. Having said that i do not think nsm wants to unload their fab in Portland. First the halla interviews would indicate otherwise; furthermore from a business point of view it would have made more sense to have sold the fab with the ibm chip production agreement still intact rather than canceling it. Keeping the contract intact would increase the number of potential buyers, making the fab attractive to both buyers who need its entire capacity as well as buyers who need only portion of its production capacity and need the ibm contract to make it cost effective for them.

I also think we are seeing some movement in the stock (althought it seems to have stopped now) not because of some buyout but simply because it appears that nsm has turned a corner as evidenced by some of halla's comments. I also am beginning to suspect that nsm may break even this quarter and not report a loss as projected last quarter.
