Im encouraged that you (rightfully)think Sun stands to pick off some of its traditional competitors but Sun's growth spurt is coming from new ecommerce vendors and service providers - ebay, amazon, cdnow, egghead.com, outpost.com, AOL, Exodus - all Sun customers - these guys arent locking down their data centers and waiting until Y2K is over like traditional ERP and database customers. This is a big reason why Sun is growing much more rapidly than its competitors - Sun has been talking about computing as being a utility for years now and everyone else is just catching on with the Internet and Sun has been their for years building the plumbing with the best TCP/IP engineers in the world.

your claim that Sun needs to "embrace the PC" is pretty funny. The PC is a blip on the radar never mind being a horrible business except for Microsoft. Repeat after me...The NETWORK is the computer....
