IVI Checkmate announces joint development for Windows CE based retail industry platforms

ATLANTA, Georgia/TORONTO, Canada, April 28 /CNW/ - IVI Checkmate Corp. (NASDAQ: CMIV); (TSE: IVC/IVI) today announced that IVI Checkmate and Microsoft Corp. have agreed to co-develop Windows CE-based platforms for the retail industry. The development alliance is a significant step toward joint activities between the two companies to improve retail customer service and store operations efficiency.

Microsoft Windows CE is a componentized modular real-time operating system, designed for 32-bit embedded systems. Its modular design allows it to be customized for a variety of non-traditional computing platforms such as PDA's (Personal Data assistants), palmtop computers, and cable set-top boxes.
