Bob, I read the rant, and it is a good one, as these things go, but I am one of those who finds the rumor (and it is just that, by the way) of FDR's deliberately allowing the Pacific fleet to be blown to hell unlikely, and not worth disseminating absent more proof. I agree that the Clinton Administration might try to manufacture an incident, but in the current political climate, and under current conditions of media scrutiny, I am not so sure that it could be pulled off... Anyway, I think there are limits to how far they would go. I certainly hope so... |
