My opinion -

I would like to play devils advocate. Do not misinterpret this post, I am a share holder and I intend to hold long, but I think (but would like to believe otherwise) that the AOL buy-out discussion is EXTREMELY premature and somewhat reckless.

First, I believe that the Chinese government would have no problem granting a license to a billion dollar ISP (AOL) for the right amount of money and a small % of the revenues.

Second, (I believe) XNET is not in enough cities (yet) to provide the type of service that a company like AOL would want to buy. Even if AOL bought XNET, wouldn't AOL need to apply for licenses' to expand into other cities any way? Isn't this what they would like to avoid? If I were making decisions for AOL I would wait for a greater audience or find another company that has a larger audience. Why not let the indigenous ISP's do the leg-work to get "spread around" before buying?

I just think that a buy-out is a ways off and I would hate to get peoples hopes up prematurely.

Again - I am long in/on XNET and would love to see a press release to prove me wrong but this is a big issue to just be throwing it around. Be careful and responsible about your posts.
