The Globe's Angela Barnes writes that Microforum advanced $3.05 to $8 yesterday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. That is up from $1.58 as recently as April 9. Trading in the shares of the Toronto-based Internet applications service provider was extremely active with 13.4-million shares changing hands yesterday. Analysts say a key factor driving the shares yesterday was the stock market's enthusiastic response to the start of trading in New York-based Razorfish. Razorfish, which designs Web sites for on-line businesses, sold three million shares at $16 (U.S.) a share on Monday and closed yesterday at $46.37 on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Razorfish's business is quite similar to Microforum's, say analysts. Its market capitalization, however, far exceeds that of Microforum.
