Les and all: Amazon.com Tumbles After Hours Despite Solid Results

Amazon.com (AMZN:Nasdaq) posted a first-quarter loss of 23 cents a share, 6 cents narrower than the 21-analyst First Call outlook but deeper than the year-ago loss of 7 cents. Revenue rocketed to $294 million from $87 million a year earlier. The Internet retailer said that, since March 31, 1998, cumulative customer accounts rose to 8.4 million from 2.3 million. Accounts hopped 2.2 million from the fourth quarter. Amazon shares reportedly fell more than 15 points in after-hours trading from their New York close of 193 1/2. TheStreet.com updated a morning preview of the earnings report.

What am I missing here? AMZN looses three times as much as last year ant that is "Solid Results". Truly this is "new era" investing...<g>

I just have to laugh at this kind of reporting, this is indeed one of the reasons I would never subscribe to TSC.
