NEWS: Xybernaut(R) Extends Product Line to Canada

Sales Agreement Signed with Dynamic Channels to Sell Wearable PCs in Canada

To VARs, Resellers and National Accounts

FAIRFAX, Va., April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Xybernaut Corporation (Nasdaq: XYBR) announced today that it has signed a marketing agreement with Dynamic Channels to sell the Xybernaut Mobile Assistant(R) (MA IV(TM)) wearable PC in Canada. Dynamic Channels will be responsible for introducing the MA IV to Canadian VARs, Resellers, and end-users.

Dynamic Channels activities will extend Xybernaut's reach into this important North American market. Dynamic Channels' team of sales professionals have 15 years of successful experience in channel development in the Canadian market. They will harness this expertise, introducing Xybernaut's products to targeted Canadian VARs, resellers and national accounts, and drive business from the ground up. Dynamic Channels represents manufacturers and organizations such as LG Electronics, Xerox 3DFX and EIZO. They have already been instrumental to the corporate success of organizations such as ViewSonic and Mitsubishi in the Canadian Market. Their expertise accelerates the Team Xybernaut Partnership Program (announced April 1, 1999) as Dynamic Channels already has a network of established Canadian customer and reseller relationships. The Team Xybernaut Program offers VAR partners a formal success plan for resale and co-marketing activities, such as joint sales calls, shared trade show activities and reciprocal inclusion in corporate literature.

"Xybernaut's wearable PC, the Mobile Assistant IV, is an extremely exciting product for us to distribute and market in Canada because of the numerous applications for hands-free wearable computers," said Alexander Montagano, VP of Sales at Dynamic Channels. "Besides inventory, installation, repair, and diagnosis, we see numerous new markets opening up because of Xybernaut."

Ed Newman, President and CEO of Xybernaut commented that, "Expansion into the Canadian market will enable us to further grow awareness and sales in the wearables market, and is an important addition to our global strategy. Wearable PCs are swiftly picking up steam in business, industry and government sectors within the U.S., and will soon become as mainstream as desktops and laptops," Mr. Newman continued. "We are looking forward to building similar momentum in Canadian markets."

The MA IV began shipping to customers in December 1998. It consists of a belt-worn computer, a color VGA head-mounted display suspended in front of either eye with microphone and earphone, an optional wrist-mounted flat panel touch screen color display or keyboard, a battery pack, and integrated voice- recognition software. With base pricing below $5,000, the market for wearable PCs is now attractive for applications where computers have never been used before, and to those organizations seeking to leverage the productivity aspects of wearables not available in conventional computing.
