Tom, yes I have had success in enterprise software, mostly because I was in the business early and knew the right people and got on the top teams. BTW you can't tell whether something is successful by talking to users, this includes even senior management in manufacturing or whatever, they don't understand the issues. Even at Dell where anybody can see where their value proposition lies the manufacturing people will tell you the software impedes their workflow - LOL! I know that a few years ago Amazon was down here recruiting people to manage their implementation - which means Bezos was willing to pay the big bucks to get some technical people on board. Thats a huge asset right there, again so much management just can't see the benefits and tries to cut corners and then you fail. I guess its like all businesses, the top 10% of the people are a thousand times more effective than anybody else, at only 50% more of the cost.
