The URL will update next week; have Earlie use slate.com There are two arguments: one, IBM's doing great (15% revenue growth, 40% EPS growth, how can that foolish Morgenson woman argue?), two, the Times forgot about the cost of equity capital so taking on debt to do share buybacks is a good thing (obviously Gretchen slept through the intro to finance course that has made me so wise). I paraphrase a bit, of course. <g> Note: nothing but assertion on either point. It would have been nice if he had been able to estimate IBM's cost of equity capital and base it on actual analysis. I'd write and ask, but why? -mb
