Talked to SLS today

They didn't know of any specific reason for the
current stock activity. However, they are still very
encouraged about the future.

The Norton distributor relationship looks like it will be
very beneficial.

No news on Hubbel imminent.

They are talking to other large lighting manufacturers.
As with any big company, acceptance is a long process.

Currently looking at generating sales in the
New England Electric / Boston Edison service
areas. These utilities offer customer rebates for
fixtures that use Pulse Start HID ballasts
and "Daylight Harvesting", which is what SLS does.
With the Utility rebate, the payback for the
increased cost of the fixture due to the SLS ballast
and light control becomes on the order of a year.

Seems like a no brainer to me.

They will be posting some example payback calculations
on their web site in the next few weeks. I'll post
a pointer when they show up.

All in all, it looks like 1999 will be an interesting year.
