Jesse, I often have my web browser running and am using Freetel at the same time. The problem I had with the free version is that you are unable to completely minimize it. I registered it ($29.95) and can now hide the whole thing. In the registered version you can create hidden groups, you give the name of your group to those you want to talk to, and no one else can see that you are on. Let's be fair here though, I have met some good folks through random calls. There are some whackos, but the majority of people are OK.

BTW I am not sure that having to start a browser, go through a couple of levels of QDeck pages, then enter a name and password to make a call is all that convenient. I also do not think being stuck at the WbTalk page is my idea of "surfing" the web! Also in the instances that I am not on the WEB it is much easier to just click an icon to open a phone program than going through all of the hassle WebTalk forces one into!

As to the IP address...most people have Dynamic IP addressing from their service providers, unless you have a method of checking for their current IP assignment this feature is pretty useless. Even the Camelot/Digiphone folks figured this out and went to a server registration system for calling (though it is hidden so they can falsely claim "direct connection technology")

BTW you can use the small window on the left part of the Freetel screen to search for a particular user. Just type the name in and push the "find" button. This window also keeps a record of the people that you have talked to. You can use the Pull-Down , high-lite a name then press find or just press "dial". This is much faster than trying to scroll through the list of everyone on the server.

How long will you be on tonight, I may not be available until around 11:00 PM your time? Perhaps if this is too late we could try Wednsday?
