They were shipping 1.6GB/platter and possibly 2.1GB/platter drives while IBM was shipping 3.2GB/platter drives with GMR heads and killing everyone. Last years problems, as I have said before, were caused by IBM's very early lead into GMR heads. A lead that they have since lost. Now QNTM is shipping 6.8GB/platter drives while IBM is at 5.1GB/platter and only offering 4 and 5 platter versions. Also QNTM's high end unit has finally gained a foothold. And then there is DLT. I think it is exactly like MB, or someone else said on the Conference Call. The outlook for QNTMs disk drive business has never been better. Also note that they have never had this much cash, DLT business is much larger than last year, installed base is up. Also the stock is down almost 30% from last May. I think this stock has the potential to trade at levels in excess of $72 within the next 18 months. So disconnect from etrade for a while and just wait till this one gets discovered. Oh maybe someone at Discover Brokerage will do that and buy an island with his profits. Sit tight and don't worry about this one. Henry
