Exactly or minimal anticipation. YOu can usually tell though.. I was either going to be neutral with AMZN and AOL but decided to be bearish although I didn't hold the puts nearly as long as I should have.

I decided to go bullish on INSP, and EBAY,CNET,NITE,BVSN,NTBK last week simply because of the pullback. When they are overextended I don't like to hold. I did not hold, AHAA, NEON,CDWC,. I did hold YUM and WCOM. But usually and thankfully the loss from holding over was only 1 or 2k ( or 1-2 points) while the profit from holding over a good one can be 10-20k. And its even less because I came into YUM and made 1 point on anticipation and about 1 point on WCOM so the loss the next day is a little less.

I decided this month to take a few more risks simply because the payoff when you succeed is 10 times more than the loss. I don't want anyone else to do it unless you know the risks. I've been hit before, but with options you can't get hit as hard. In fact this morning after selling WCOM I was toying with picking up the puts, turns out that if I had, the gain in the puts at the close would have outweighted the loss in the calls (at the time of the sell in the morning). Because of this I'm going to try a few straddles next time. Just 5 contracts each for a while.
