There have been about a half dozen positive announcements from VLSI recently. The company really looks great. It's hard for me to believe the stock will go down to 17 again no matter what happens. But I'm sure losing patience and wish the company would announce something -- whether they decide to go it alone or whether they have a deal with another buyer. I don't have this long an attention span!! One thing seems clear to me is that Phillips cannot win, because they refused to up their bid. Their law suits will fail because the proof lies in the $19 stock price: proof that their offer is NOT good for the stockholders of VLSI. If they'd upped their bid, they could have walked away happy. I think they would have had to offer $24-26, but they'd have walked away with the company. I think they're going to leave empty now, though. Linda
