Gary, I have to repeat myself again, but the 5ESS is a PLATFORM that supports MULTIPLE services, both wireless and wired. Now this PLATFORM supports Circuit switched technology and Packet switched technology. Where did I state the 5ESS didn't support circuit switching? You need to slow down, read Mr Funs post, understand the meaning, then post a reply. I never said the 5E didn't support circuit switching. In your haste to debunk/ignore our FACTS you've arrived at some half @ss conclusion... "5e doesn't support circuit switching" .. slow down. >> But all this discussion misses my point. That is, is modifying a circuit switch to provide tomorrows services better than replacing it. <<< Lucent will provide strategies to Greenfield customers and ILEC's, PTT's, etc that support millions of customers and REQUIRE a migration strategy. This leap of faith theory, trust me, doesn't go very far with the ILEC's.
