Mike - the truth of it is though that if you are running all your desktop applications from server-based platforms - i.e. Citrix - then 486 processors are fine. Citrix runs best with their 32-bit client - so 386's will run with 16-bit Citrix client - but do not run as optimally as the 32-bit client. You would literally note no difference in performance between the same 32-bit clients across a 486 versus Pentium and above.
