What does Corel get for this deal? People apparently get automatic free upgrades! So the exposure doesn't get corel new sales when people hopefully upgrade. Is corel tarnished by being associated with Gobi? Why doesn't the press release disclose what corel gets? Does Cowpland think it isn't important to the reader? Does he think it isn't important to Corel? Perhaps, that is why corel loses money. Is he embarrassed because corel gets so little? Perhaps Gobi got corel not to disclose it. why would Gobi do that? Is it wise for Corel to start a price war with Microsoft? Microsoft gave away browsers for free-it could do the same with word or office-or at least undercut corel if it wanted to. can corel gain by a price war? Why can't corel sell wordperfect and suite 8 on their merits? it already charges much less than word or office.
