Only one thing seems certain in this battle for UMG: the cable+internet landscape is about to change. It might change enough that Allen's Charter will have to re-evaluate its strategy. Any of these bids will probably shake Comcast away from its partnership with @home. Where it goes depends on which bidder wins.

Since the possible couplings are so dizzying, it's impossible to predict what things will look like. In some scenarios, GNET could lose big. In others it could gain. Mostly, though, it seems likely to ride out the shifts unaffected.
