Globus Group Inc. announces its first subsidiary, GGI Systems Inc., based in Eugene, Ore.
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 1997--Following the successful completion of the $3.55 million (in cash, equity & notes) asset purchase of Internet Adventures Inc., a subsidiary of Florida based World Vision Entertainment, Globus Group Inc. (NASDAQ BB:GBUS) launched its first division.
The new subsidiary will function as a Development Lab for Internet and PC related commercial products as well as an Internet Web Site authoring facility. The company has signed agreements with three prominent Eugene software/hardware development companies:
Marketing Engineers Inc. -- The founder, Kevin Corson, has been a software and hardware developer for over 10 years. His credits include such award winning products and popular trademarks as Voice Blaster, Phone Blaster, EZSound FX, Fax Blaster, IR Blaster and DIGIPHONE which combined have generated over $60 million in sales and licensing revenue world wide. He participated in the creation of all of the box and literature design, software interfaces, and marketing strategies used to penetrate the major distribution, retail and OEM markets in the United States and Canada. Marketing Engineers Inc. will be handling the scheduling and directing of project development, trademarks and copyrights, manage the software and engineering relationships for the company, coordinate and implement advertising campaigns, new product releases, and general press coverage. Corson will be the Project Vision Director for GGI Systems Inc. and will also act as an attache and spokesperson for the company as needed.
Singlenesia Software Co., founded in 1992, has designed and created a number of custom and retail products ranging from embedded systems to creating desktop Internet applications such as "digiphone"(tm) and "Digiphone Deluxe"(tm). The President and Founder, John Martin, has been a software engineer for over 10 years, working for companies such as the Institute of Neuroscience at the University of Oregon, Covox, and Dynamix. Singlenesia will be working with GGI Systems Inc. to develop its "CyberVoice"(tm) voice recognition products, software for the "WebRanger(tm) Internet Television system," and other projects in the fields of compression, systems programming, database design, artificial intelligence, embedded systems programming.
CA Design Electronics Co. was founded in 1993 by Charles Andrews, a computer and electrical engineer for over 15 years. Andrews company designed the hardware for the "Sound Master" sound card, the EQ module for the "Voice Blaster" software which won the 1993 Al Gore "Discovery Magazine" design excellence award, both products owned by Covox Corp. Through Marketing Engineers Inc. the company also designed the hardware for the "Cyberbox" which connects phone lines to multimedia soundcards. This product was recently sold to Cyberacoustics Inc. of Portland, Wash. for release to the retail market. CA Design Electronics Co. will be working with GGI Systems Inc. to develop products in the fields of voice recognition, compression, also the hardware design for the "WebRanger(tm) Internet Television System," and "Talk n' Fax(it)"(tm).
