DIDAX Says America Online Exec Will Oversee Engineering & Product Development for crosswalk.com
CHANTILLY, Va., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- DIDAX INC. (Nasdaq: AMEN), creator of crosswalk.com (http://www.crosswalk.com, the leading Web portal serving the broad Christian community, today said that Rogers Hellman has been named to the newly created position of senior vice president and director of engineering and product development. Hellman will assume his new position on May 1, coming from America Online where he has been vice president of development support since 1996.
"We are experiencing rapid growth in membership, pageviews, content, services, webcasts, and all aspects of e-commerce," Bill Parker, DIDAX CEO and President said. "Rogers brings an outstanding world-class technical background to crosswalk.com, which we believe will help ensure that our technology infrastructure stays ahead of this exponential growth curve." Parker said that among Hellman's priorities will be to focus on high-end systems performance optimization, systems scalability and redundancy, and quality assurance.
At America Online, Hellman led a variety of intensive design and management initiatives focused on increased productivity, process improvement, and quality control. In his career he has held a variety of consulting and management positions focused on applying high-end solutions -- UNIX, Sun, Sybase and Oracle -- to complex, data-intensive systems. Prior to joining AOL, he was a senior director at Transaction Information Systems, where he directed national and international development teams working on Web-based and client-server database applications for a range of Wall Street financial institutions.
"Most of my career has been about developing and managing high-end technology solutions in fast growth environments, and it's exciting to come on board at such a relatively early point in a growth company's lifecycle," Hellman said. "But it's also a rare opportunity to align my professional interests with a company and a corporate mission that so closely match my own personal beliefs. The online Christian community deserves the best the Web has to offer and I look forward to helping crosswalk.com accelerate its ability to continue this drive toward excellence in everything we do."
Hellman holds a BA degree from Bethany College and attended the West Texas State University graduate CIS program. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Round Hill, Virginia.
