mskihntr,
It is amazing you should be bringing this to the attention of the thread. I have personally been subpoenaed by the SEC to furnish information pertaining to perpetrators of such schemes. I have found, that the SEC is in its infancy concerning such cyber-smear campaigns, but is truly working diligently to have these antics stopped. This thread has had a few posters that have walked the thin line between truth and libel.
The following is an excerpt from Black's Law Dictionary, Fifth Edition, defining "Libel": "A maliciously written or printed publication which tends to blacken a person's reputation or to expose him to public hatred, contempt, or ridicule, or to injure him in his business or profession. Accusation in writing or printing against the character of a person which affects his reputation, in that it tends to hold him up to ridicule, contempt, shame, disgrace, or obloquy, to degrade him in the estimation of the community, to induce an evil opinion of him in the minds of right thinking persons, to make him an object of reproach, to diminish his respectability or abridge his comforts, to change his position in society for the worse, to dishonor or discredit him in the estimation of the public......, etc."
Does anyone think anyone on this thread has crossed that thin line?
