So are you saying that your bet is that QCOM will be reduced to a royalty clipper, that all of their CDMA experience counts for nothing in this brave new world?

And what about chipsets? Who will be selling those? Is the idea that all the majors will make their own and there won't be anything left for anyone else?

I also think one of the things you'll be surprised by is how much better CDMAone/2000 is going to look when compared to GSM in 2 years. Data is in it's infancy. CDMA has been chosen because it is superior. It's not as if CDMAone is going to be some small mkt.

We still don't know how different these standards are, what Vod wants for example.

It's my suspicion that over time you'll see that no one company will be able to dominate the handset market the way Nokia does today. The size of the mkt is so large it's going suck everyone in.

Show me where Q said they'd be making WCDMA phones?
