4/30/99 - Hoard of 40 kilograms of precious metals found in N Russia. <Picture> MOSCOW, April 30 (Itar-Tass) - A 40-kilogram hoard of precious metals worth 2.7 million roubles (1.13 million dollars) has been found in the northern city beyond the Arctic Circle, a source in the Interior Ministry press service told Tass on Friday. Platinum, gold, silver, iridium, palladium, and rhodium were all hidden in the garage of a Dudinka businessman. Police suspect that the metals had been obtained illegally from the Norilsk mining and dressing complex.
