If the record date is today and the split actually occurs for example in 2 weeks what happens with all trades in between?> Nothing really happens in between, all open positions are adjusted on the split date. Can't really comment on the second part of your post except to say that if I had problems with a brokerage account due to incompetence in handling "corporate actions", I would move the account.
