Litigator's Notebook is really just an application for Notes. Many law firms have been reluctant to use the Notebook because they need to support Lotus Notes and that is no small task. Docucon has recently obviated that need (to some extent) by permitting firms to use IBM's network for Notes. If Notes is not particularly successful, Docucon could move the application to another groupware product such as MicroSoft's competing product; however, that would be an expensive job and would require supporting the product on two software platforms. Bruce's concern is that if Notes tanks, then JFS could be a third party victim.
