Seagate is one supplier, although, at the time of purchase (about a month ago), they were using the Medalist 4321 (2.1/platter) instead of the recently qualed U4 (4.3/platter). This is interesting, because of e-machine's fast turnover, the drives couldn't have been made more than a few months ago.

Fact is, I don't think Seagate's been yielding very many 3.4 or 4.3 desktops, or their new 18LP enterprise drives... And those they have made probably don't use Seagate heads. Seems like Luczo and Watson are slowly dismantling the vertical integration model.
