JLA--- First, I was one of those born with an even temperment. Second, my family was pretty screwed up, so it became necessary to control a lot of resentment merely to survive, especially when visiting my father. Third, as I told you I had inordinate responsibility, given my age, for my brother with cerebral palsy, and that encouraged patience. Fourth, I have developed the characteristics of an effete intellectual. As I told Bob Lao- Tse, read "Magister Ludi", and you will understand better. I identify somewhat with Joseph Knecht. By the way, I still yell at my kid sometimes, the only instance when I out- and- out lose my temper fairly regularly. |
